How to play Five Teammates

Five Teammates is the daily game of guessing a player by his dressing room: five of his teammates, revealed one at a time, and five tries. The player is the same for the whole world, it is free and it takes a minute.

The rules, in 20 seconds

  1. The first teammate is free. He is on screen before your first guess — and he is the most famous of the five.
  2. Guess a name from the list. Type and pick from the suggestions.
  3. Every miss calls the next teammate. Five in total.
  4. Five tries. Get it and the day ends; miss all five and the screen shows who it was.

What counts as a teammate

Sharing the same club with overlapping years. It is not enough that both played for Milan: if one left in 2009 and the other arrived in 2010, they were never teammates — and our graph knows it. Three details worth writing down:

Why the club is hidden during the game

Because it is the proof, not the clue. With "Milan 2003–2009" next to the name, the answer would build itself — and the game would stop being about remembering who played with whom. At the end the screen shows, for each of the five, where and when they played together.

There is always a single answer

Every published day is checked before it exists: among the players with dated careers in our database, the five teammates point at one name. A day with two possible answers would punish whoever got the reasoning right, so it is refused — and it can be, because there are plenty of players for the 365 days of the year.

Three strategies that work

The player does not repeat across games

This game, Craque Oculto, Football Wordle and Four Clubs draw from the same players. So that playing two does not give away the third, the draw keeps 60 days of distance on each side.

Frequently asked questions

When does the player change?

At midnight, in your device's local time. Everyone plays the same player on the same day.

Is my progress saved?

It is, in your own browser — and separate from the other games: each one has its own stats and streak.

Does sharing give the answer away?

No. The text carries one square per try and the score: it shows how many teammates you needed, but not who he was nor who they were.

Are there other games?

There are: Craque Oculto, Four Clubs and Football Bingo, among others.
