About Fut Trivia

Also in português · español

Fut Trivia is a site of daily football games: seventeen challenges, a new one every day in each game, the same for the whole world. The main one is Craque Oculto, where you work out the player of the day from his career, revealed club by club after every wrong guess. They are all free, need no sign-up and come in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Who makes it

Fut Trivia is made by Skyward, an independent casual games studio. There is no club, league, federation or sponsor behind it: the site is not affiliated with any of them, and club and player names appear only to identify them. To reach the people who make it, write to [email protected].

Where the data comes from

No fact about a player is written from memory. Career, clubs, nationality, position, year of birth and debut year come from Wikidata and Wikipedia, fetched by script — and the script keeps what it downloaded, so every piece of information can be checked again. The editorial text for each player (the fun fact, the nickname, the biggest title) is written from the source excerpt the script saved, not made up.

The source makes mistakes too, and the site checks what can be checked: a position that Wikidata records for a sport other than football is thrown out; a player listed with another sport as his occupation only stays if his career shows football matches; and whatever the source does not confirm is flagged for review instead of becoming a well-written guess.

The database currently holds 702 players with a curated career — the ones who can be the answer of the day —, 9,841 players accepted as guesses and 1,660 clubs. Each club's colours come from the kit templates on Wikipedia and from Wikidata; when no source has the colour, the club gets a neutral shirt rather than an invented one.

How the daily challenge is picked

Each game has a calendar built in advance. Craque Oculto's covers 702 days, from 14 August 2026 to 15 July 2028, following a weekly rhythm that goes from the easiest challenge on Monday to the "Legendary Sunday". The challenge changes at midnight in your device's local time, and it is the same for everyone. And a day that has been played never changes: go back to a date and you will find the same challenge.

A day's answer only shows up in Every answer once that day has ended everywhere in the world — including the planet's latest time zone —, so nobody gets the answer while they are still playing.

What the site does not do

Found a mistake?

With thousands of players in the database, some career is bound to be wrong — and we want to know. Write to [email protected] with the player's name and what is wrong; the Report a data error link at the bottom of every game already opens the e-mail with the right subject. The fix goes into the database and applies to every game at once.
